The benchmark S&P 500 and the Nasdaq have gained after softer than anticipated producer prices data soothed investor jitters about sticky inflation, keeping hopes of rate cuts from the US Federal Reserve this year alive.
A Labor Department report showed the Producer Price Index(PPI) for final demand rose 0.2 per cent in March, against forecasts of a 0.3 per cent increase, according to economists polled by Reuters.
